Polyurethane foam is an adaptable material, that can be apply in several processes. Available in different density, permits to realize simple and complex shapes, guaranteeing long-term and lightness to all kind of furniture. There are 3 types of polyurethane processes inside our factories: shaping, hollowing, and embossing.
The use of shaping CNC machines optimizes the consumption of the polyurethane raw block, and considerably speeds up the production of complex shapes with consistent accuracy throughout the various work cycles. The shaped piece can be further processed: bent, milled, hollowed, glued to other elements, covered, etc.
Using machines working on the principle of compression cutting, we can produce items in expanded materials with customised ridges and contours.
With the help of machines using special differentiated thickness profiling rollers for compression cutting, we can produce a range of articles such as pillows and mattresses with differentiated zones, including with different types of expanded material.
This phase involves joining a number of elements made from the same or different materials, using water based or synthetic adhesives, according to the type of process involved. Gluing of elements: rubber/rubber, rubber/wadding, rubber/resined, rubber/iron, rubber/plastic, rubber/wood, etc.
The semi-finished are padding covered with technical materials chosen to guarantee top comfort. Among our realizations: resined and polyester cushions; covering of rigid structures; protective frame covers made from combined technical materials such as velvet/foam, velvet/wadding, cloth, cotton/wadding; polyester or resined covering of polyurethane foam elements.
During this phase we realize the "internal dress": the wood frames can be padded with various densities of polyurethane foam and covered with bonded/resined covers. The result is a semi-finished product.
The phase that follows pre-covering is upholstery. We cover the item with fabric, leather or eco-leather. The customer chooses the material, while we are responsible for the process and the transformation. The fabrics and the leathers, once forwarded to the cutting and sewing department for the make-up, are installed on the pre-covered strucures and fastened to them with Velcro in the removable cover version, or stitched, in the fixed cover version.
We only rely on Italian suppliers to find the materials that our clients choose as covering for our creations. The experimentation and the research for new fabrics, innovative fibres and performing materials for the upholstery is our every day challenge.
Although this type of process was first invented in the 1800s, capitonné is still widely used in modern furnishing. This process is entirely manual and it requires great skill and experience by the operator. Covered bottoms are applied and fixed to the panel by twines passed through the back and pulled with a long needle, creating a folded leather effect. This delightful process can be applied to sofas, armchairs, beds, benches and poufs.
During this process same-width leather or eco-leather covered strips are woven together and stitched to the panel, creating a distinctive wicker effect. The final result is an attractive bed head able to stand out in the bedroom.
